What to Expect at Your ShoreAgents Interview: A Complete Preparation Guide
Got an interview at ShoreAgents? Congratulations โ you made the shortlist! Now let's make sure you're fully prepared.
This guide walks you through exactly what to expect at each stage of the ShoreAgents interview process and how to give yourself the best chance.
The Overall Process
- Application screening (you've passed this โ well done!)
- Initial HR phone/video screening
- Online assessments (English, typing, role-specific)
- Main interview (video or in-person)
- Reference checks
- Job offer
Not all positions include every step โ some fast-track to the main interview. We'll tell you clearly what to expect for your specific role.
Stage 1: Initial HR Screening (20โ30 minutes)
This is typically a phone or video call with our recruitment team. We're assessing:
- Your English proficiency โ can you communicate clearly and professionally?
- Basic background โ your experience, education, and what you're looking for
- Motivation โ why ShoreAgents? Why this role? Why now?
- Availability and logistics โ when can you start? Are you able to work from our Clark office?
What to do:
- Find a quiet place with good signal
- Speak clearly and at a natural pace
- Answer questions directly โ don't ramble
- Have your resume in front of you for reference
- Prepare 2โ3 genuine reasons why you want to work at ShoreAgents
Stage 2: Assessments
Depending on your role, you'll complete some combination of:
English Proficiency Test Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and a short written exercise. We're looking for professional-level English โ not perfection, but clear, accurate, professional communication.
Typing Test For admin, VA, and data roles. We typically look for 40+ WPM with good accuracy. Practice at keybr.com or typingtest.com before your assessment.
Role-Specific Assessment
- Accounting roles: Transaction coding exercise, reconciliation task
- Customer service: Written response to a customer complaint scenario
- Marketing: Writing sample, social media strategy brief
- IT: Technical problem-solving scenarios
- VA: Email drafting, scheduling exercise
Complete assessments promptly and honestly. Don't Google answers during the test โ we want to see your actual capabilities.
Stage 3: Main Interview (30โ60 minutes)
This is the substantive conversation where we get to know you properly.
What we assess:
- Your professional experience and how it relates to the role
- English communication (written and spoken)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Cultural fit for Australian client work
- Motivation and career goals
Typical questions:
- "Walk me through your career to date"
- "Tell me about a challenging situation at work and how you handled it"
- "What do you know about Australian business culture?"
- "Why do you want to work in BPO / with Australian clients?"
- "What are your strongest skills for this role?"
- "Where do you see yourself professionally in 2โ3 years?"
STAR Method Answers For behavioral questions ("Tell me about a time when..."), use:
- Situation โ set the context briefly
- Task โ what needed to be done
- Action โ what YOU specifically did
- Result โ the outcome
Be specific. "I handled a difficult customer" is weak. "I received a call from an extremely frustrated customer whose order had been lost twice. I personally tracked the shipment, upgraded their delivery, and followed up three times to ensure resolution. They left a 5-star review." โ that's strong.
What to Wear
Video interview: Dress professionally from the waist up. Collared shirt or blouse โ not a t-shirt or loungewear. Business casual is perfect.
In-person interview: Business casual or smart casual. Neat, clean, professional. Avoid overly casual clothing (shorts, flip-flops) and overly formal (full business suit is fine but not necessary).
Video Interview Logistics
If your interview is by video:
- Platform: Usually Zoom or Google Meet โ confirm which and download the app beforehand
- Background: Clean, neutral, professional โ your bedroom is fine if tidy, but a plain wall is better than a cluttered background
- Lighting: Face a window or lamp (light source in front of you, not behind)
- Camera: Position at eye level โ not looking up or down at you
- Internet: Test your connection. Have a backup plan if your Wi-Fi is unreliable (can you use mobile data?)
- Log in 5 minutes early
Questions to Ask Us
Always ask questions. Good ones demonstrate genuine interest:
- "What does a typical day look like for someone in this role?"
- "Who would I be directly supporting, and what type of Australian business is it?"
- "What qualities do the most successful people in this role have?"
- "What does career growth look like from this position?"
- "What are the next steps in the process?"
After the Interview
Send a brief thank-you email within 24 hours:
"Dear [Name], Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the [role] position at ShoreAgents. I genuinely enjoyed learning more about the team and the Australian clients you support. I'm very excited about this opportunity and look forward to the next steps. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything further from me."
It's a small gesture that makes a positive impression.
