Interested in a career in HR? Find out what an HR Coordinator role at ShoreAgents actually involves, what skills you need, and why it's a great entry point into People & Culture.
HR Coordinator Careers at ShoreAgents: Your Path Into People & Culture
People & Culture is one of the most rewarding areas you can work in. You get to shape the employee experience, support people through their careers, and build the kind of workplace where people actually want to show up.
At ShoreAgents, HR Coordinator roles support both internal operations and our Australian and New Zealand clients who need HR admin assistance. It's a dual-purpose role in the best possible way โ you're developing your HR skills while doing genuinely meaningful work.
Here's what the role really looks like.
What Does an HR Coordinator Do at ShoreAgents?
HR Coordinator roles at ShoreAgents can take two forms depending on the opening:
Internal HR support โ Working within ShoreAgents' own People & Culture team, supporting recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee records, and staff communications.
Client-facing HR admin โ Supporting an Australian business with their HR administrative needs: updating employee records, coordinating onboarding processes, managing leave tracking, drafting HR documents, and providing administrative support to their HR function.
In both cases, the work is structured, professional, and relationship-driven. HR coordinators are often the first point of contact for employees with questions โ which means communication skills, warmth, and discretion are essential.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Depending on the specific role, your daily work might include:
Recruitment coordination โ Posting job listings, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, maintaining the applicant tracking system, and supporting hiring managers through the selection process.
Onboarding administration โ Preparing employment contracts and offer letters, coordinating system access and equipment setup, collecting required documents (IDs, government IDs, emergency contacts), and ensuring new hires have a smooth first week.
Employee records management โ Keeping digital personnel files up to date, tracking leave balances, updating payroll-relevant information, and maintaining accurate headcount records.
HR document drafting โ Writing memos, policy updates, position descriptions, letter templates, and other HR communications.
Payroll support โ Coordinating attendance records, flagging anomalies, and liaising with payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely pay.
Employee engagement support โ Helping coordinate company events, staff recognitions, survey administration, and culture initiatives.
Compliance tracking โ Ensuring mandatory government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) are properly documented and deadlines are met.
What Skills Do You Need?
A strong HR Coordinator at ShoreAgents typically has:
- A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1โ2 years of HR or administrative experience (fresh graduates with strong internship experience are considered)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- High attention to detail โ HR errors have real consequences for real people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Familiarity with HRIS tools (BambooHR, Sprout HR, or similar) is an advantage
- Discretion and professionalism โ HR handles sensitive information daily
What Makes Someone Thrive in This Role?
Beyond the technical requirements, the best HR Coordinators share certain qualities:
Genuine care for people. HR isn't just paperwork โ it's about the humans behind the paperwork. If you genuinely care about the employee experience, that will show in every interaction.
Organization and follow-through. Onboarding has fifteen steps. Recruitment has twelve candidates. Nothing should fall through the cracks. HR coordinators who thrive are the ones who track everything meticulously.
Emotional intelligence. HR professionals regularly handle sensitive situations โ performance concerns, personal leave, workplace conflicts. The ability to listen with empathy while remaining professional is invaluable.
Proactive communication. Don't wait for people to come to you with problems. Good HR coordinators anticipate needs and communicate before issues escalate.
